
In transient: LG’s follow-up to our favourite tv that doubles as a (large) PC monitor, the LG C1, already seems like a worthy successor. But for those who’re keen on shopping for an LG C2 and actually wish to let your geek flag fly, check out this Star Wars-themed 65-inch OLED.
Grabbing the set will not be as simple as capturing womp rats in Beggar’s Canyon. There are solely 501 being made, an homage to the 501st Legion, the elite stormtrooper legion nicknamed Vader’s Fist.
Just a few parts give this LG C2 its Star Wars credentials. There’s the wonderful packaging, which is one field you undoubtedly do not wish to throw away; the distinctive sound of Vader respiration when the set is powered on; the Galactic Empire insignia engraved on the again; and the Star Wars brand on the Magic Remote, which has a lightsaber-style design full with crimson accent lighting. Even the on-screen cursor it controls seems like a Jedi’s conventional weapon.
But that is not all. The Star Wars theme extends to the TV’s Gallery Mode. Designed to indicate off items of artwork or your pictures, the function will present two collections of Star Wars imagery, together with conceptual designs, storyboards, illustrations, digitized film posters, pivotal scenes from the flicks, and art work.
The customary 65-inch LG C2 affords a slew of high specs: a 4K OLED Evo panel, G-Sync, GeForce Now help, Dolby Vision and HDR10, loads of HDMI 2.1 ports, and extra. The 65-inch mannequin sells for $2,299, so you may count on the numbered, limited-edition Star Wars model to value much more when it arrives within the US. No phrase but on when that is perhaps.
